Blueberry mini~muffins

I really really LOVE blueberries, so I was excited to make these blueberry mini~muffins from my "Barbie Fun to Cook" book. They were fun and easy to make, and turned out SO good! The hardest part was not eating the blueberries before I got them in the muffins! :o)
 You will need:
4 Tablespoons Butter
2/3 cup Milk
2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
4 oz. blueberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a mixing bowl.
Stir in the sugar and fruit.

Melt butter, and stir in with milk and eggs. Carefully add melted butter, milk and egg mixture into the flour, sugar and fruit mixture.

Now mix everything together! (Quickly and gently)

Using two teaspoons, transfer the mixture to muffin pans. I didn't have liners for my mini muffin pans, so I greased them with shortening beforehand.

Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden and well risen. Allow to cool in tin, then move to a wire rack.
After my muffins were cooled we had them for dessert! Everyone loved them. I covered the leftovers and we had them for breakfast the next morning. I can't wait to make these again, and hope you like them too!

Fruity Freezies

After my first blog entry, I was excited to make something else. The first step was finding something to make! I looked through my Barbie cook book and found a recipe for "Fruity Freezies" that I have wanted to try for a long time. I made a grocery list for all the ingredients I needed and gave it to my Mom.

Now that I had all the ingredients it was time to get started!

I made "Chewy Freezies" first.  The first step was to put a variety of jelly beans in my paper cups.
Then I filled each cup half way with orange juice. I put them in the freezer.

Then I started on the "Creamy Freezies".  I sliced up some fresh strawberries.
I put the sliced strawberries in the paper cups, and filled them half way with yogurt.
I put all the cups in the freezer for about an hour, until they were slushy. Then, I added a plastic spoon to each cup, and put them back in the freezer for 3 hours.
It was hard for me to wait for them to freeze! Once they were frozen all the way through, they were ready to eat!
The best part was sharing my delicious treats with my friends!
They were easy and fun to make, and tasted fantastic!
You should try them too!

You will need:
Orange Juice
Jelly Beans
Strawberries
Yogurt
plastic or paper cups
plastic spoons
and of course a friend to share them with! :o) Enjoy!

Grandma's Famous Cookies

Hi! Chef Addi here. Today I made chocolate chip cookies (my Grandma's recipe) and gave them to my neighbors.

I had fun learning how to crack eggs. I was proud of myself for not getting egg shells in the bowl. It took some practice!

I learned it's important to make all your cookies the same size.

All finished! Time to deliver my delicious cookies to my nice neighbors!

If you want to make these delicious cookies yourself, here is the recipe!

Grandma's Famous Cookies
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla

mix together well

Add gradually, 2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

Bake at 350 for about 8 minutes.
Cool cookies, and ENJOY!
